Hello
I thought I better put up an entry to say a big hello and assure anyone out there who has missed me, yes all two of you, that I have not been abducted or anything, but i have been a little busy. I don't want to keep you guys up all night so I'll fill you in on just the recent activities. Last weekend in keeping with my new years resolution to get out more I attended an lac meet up in London and had a great time catching up with some old friends and meeting some new people too, everyone was fantastic and I only felt a little bit funny about being the oldest person there, well I suppose some one has to be. Last weekend I attended a sag do for another friend of mine, we went tobogganing among other things, there were quite a few kids who were there in the snow dome with us who had a habit of tumbling out of their sleds and dispute my best efforts I didn't manage to run down a single one as they staggered to their feet, ah well better luck next time, my old reflexes are not what they were.
Work has kept me busy but it's all good, I found out the other day that I've now been in the games industry long enough to be classified as a veteran, unfortunately that does not entitle me to a chest full of medals or entry to a gentlemen's club or anything. I guess I can brood in the corner of my local bar with a slightly haunted look, though I think the emo scene up here has that well and truly covered, the last thing Nottingham needs is yet more fake moody. I do have some 3d coming along and yes i am moving at the speed of a tree sloth on tranquillises, geeze it's fortunate that my living doesn't depend on churning out 3d at speed or a really would be in trouble (looks nervously around).
In other news my mid life crisis seems to be coming along nicely, there is an event coming up in the peak district at the end or march, a 10km long assault course designed by the Royal marines that only a complete idiot would go out of his way to attempt. Having secured my entry and that of two of my friends as 'Team Scum' we now have a short eight weeks to bump up the training and try to pass ourselves off and something less than feeble. Personally I'm not really looking forward the quick sand, and the tight ropes are making me a little bit nervous as well. One day I might bit off more than I can chew, and that day may be on the horizon, that said, getting one's self out of the trouble that one has put one's self in, is becoming a life long skill.
Stay well people.
